If you do not want to send out the connection details of the database servers to all the users, you can create their user.config files directly from your admin login.
To do this, do the following:
- Confirm your profile auto-connections details are filled in by launching the Connector, Report Manager or Report Viewer.
- Go to your Local Appdata profile (hint: this can be done by typing ‘%appdata%’ into the folder search bar. However, this takes you to the roaming profile. Be sure to navigate back a level and go into your Local appdata profile)
- Look for a folder named “Alchemex_(Pty)_Ltd” and copy that folder
- Paste that folder into the Local appdata profile of the particular users that are going to be launching the software (Note: Inside this folder is a file called user.config that holds the auto-connection details for the screen).
The connection details will be replicated when the specific user launches the particular module assigned to them. Please remember that the details may allow them access to all database tables so it is always important to double check the permissions required for each user before assigning the rights.
